Nanaimo takes its cue from Amsterdam, which made headlines for being the first major city to adopt the well-being centric doughnut model as its core development and progress framework. Nearly a year on, Amsterdam’s embracing of doughnut economics is leading the city to rethink how it plans, executes and innovates projects designed to enhance quality of life and resilience.
